Introduction to working with audiences

Audiences in Conducttr can be segmented or organized in two primary ways:

  • in Groups
  • In Teams.

A Group is a segmentation of the audience. For example, "Toyota owners", "West Ham fans",  "players at Level 3", "Spanish speakers".

A Team is a collection of audience members collaborating to achieve a common goal. For example, a soccer team or baseball team. The distinction is illustrated below.

Groups is the primary way to personalize communications (e.g. send this reply to French speakers and this reply to English speakers) while Teams is more specifically used for games.  Each member of a Team is typically expected to have a Role within the team although this is not mandatory. The team Role is created as a Group so that your Characters can communicate to specific Roles within the Team.
